The name DMAT Consulting KG stands for Disaster Management Advice and Training.

D.M.A.T. e.U. was founded as a one-person company in 2006. The keen interest and need for research, innovation, and training in the field of crisis and disaster management led to the decision to restructure the company in 2010, becoming D.M.A.T. Consulting KG.

Our main area of Work

DMAT’s work focuses on consulting, training, and development in the following areas:

Management of national and international disasters/catasrophic events
Promoting and strengthening disaster resilience
Disaster preparedness, prevention, and mitigation
Risk assessment, mitigation, and understanding
Development of business continuity, continuity of government, and continuity of operations plans.

Another focus of our work is our participation as a cooperation partner in

EU research projects to further develop the equipment used by first responders and relief workers, particularly in the area of safe and reliable information gathering and analysis.

Team

Sebastian Hirschmugl MSc, a commercial partner and managing director, is a disaster management, risk management, and adult education expert and has been working as an employee in the DMAT team since 2014.The team is expanded by our disaster management expert Prof. Dr. Alois A. Hirschmugl and our sustainability, SDG, and ethics expert Monika Hirschmugl-Fuchs.

The globe represents our company’s global readiness to provide support before, during and after major disasters of any kind or to better prepare for possible disaster events and to improve disaster protection.

According to Native American mythology, the red butterfly in the D.M.A.T. Consulting KG logo represents the messenger of renewal and the bearer of good news. In mythology, the butterfly is generally seen as a symbol of change and rebirth. Its red color represents the energy of life.

With our work, we want to take this position and thereby bring about a change towards resilience and sustainable renewal.
